We travelled away to where sea birds play
And the water glistened brightly in the sun,
We walked early in the year along a Victorian pier
Where elders many years ago had done...

EASTER IN ABERYSTWYTH ©

Cricket beside the caravan,
Blue skies welcomed me.
Easter in Aberystwyth,
A few days by the sea.
Cricket beside the caravan,
With a soft tennis ball,
Easter in Aberystwyth,
The kids were still quite small...

TREARDDUR BAY ©
by Robbie Kennedy Bennett

The rocky shoreline was picturesque,
Characteristic and majestic.

I walked some way, around Trearddur Bay.
And relished the reception of a July day.
The resemblance of grass and a Celtic shawl,
Covering layers of stone rustic and tall.
The rhythm of the sea kept calling,
Wave upon wave, crashing and falling.
As the rocky shoreline broke the advance,
The ocean swayed like lads and lassies at a country-dance.
I listened to nature's melody, on the Isle of Anglesey.

Attracted by evidence of time previously,
Am I witnessing history, I wondered, possibly.
Was this in the past a fertile coast?
Where boys heard a tale and fishermen boast.

Did they have no say, at Treaddur Bay?
Where every young fellows future lay.
Out to sea at early hours,
In wild storms and heavy showers.
Were they first to jump out of their vessel to shore?
With rope in young hand to securely moor,
Their craft in shallow sea to the land.
In a mature youthful way, earning pittance of pay,
Did they transport their catch across sand?

Again my mind is wondering,
This pleasant morn of a July day.
As the ocean keeps on plundering,
The rugged rocks at Treaddur Bay.

The tune awoke me from my dream,
Brought me back here from where I'd been.
As the rocky shoreline broke the advance,
The ocean swayed like Lords and Ladies at a ballroom dance.
I listened to nature’s symphony, on the Isle of Anglesey.

The rocky shoreline was picturesque,
Characteristic and majestic.
